- A clash of heroes with the same - yet different - goals Review by Ryan
Venser was one of my favourite characters whilst reading the Time Spiral cycle of novels. The idea of an artificer who built a chair designed for planeswalking, only to find out that he could planeswalk without it, really captured my interest. So it's no wonder that I'm not disappointed with his deck. My signature Magic colours are white and blue with occasional red overlap. With this deck being a mostly control-based WU deck with a strong exile theme, I'll admit it's my favourite of the two decks. Koth's deck is great as well, a red deck with a strong earth elemental theme built around the use of Mountains. Both of the Planeswalker cards in the set give its player an 'emblem', a special ability which lasts until the end of the game, and each of the decks in the set includes the corresponding emblem in card form, a great way to memorise the benefit you've been given. This set is by far my favourite Duel Decks product yet, with my favourite deck no doubt being Venser's. I look forward to the next installment with eager anticipation.
